WICKidz Radio, Episode 1

Hosted by Andres Stockdill & Manny Lagunes 20 June, 2015

From an old converted barbershop inside the area’s largest all-nude strip club comes the debut episode of WICKidz Radio hosted by WICIR, the Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigration Rights.

WICKidz Radio is locally run by youth for youth in the Ypsilanti area. The show focuses on local and national social justice issues. The goal is that listeners can learn and take inspiration from the perspectives of young people, and go out to make a difference.

In this week’s episode, the kids discuss DAPA / DACA and interview Fredy Mencia about his upcoming deportation on June 26th and what the community can do to help prevent that from happening. The kids also discuss politics, sports, and upcoming events including Las Cafeteras’ performance on June 24th at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival.

Released 20 June, 2015

Recorded live at AM1700 Radio in historic, downtown Ypsilanti, MI.
