The Saturday Six Pack With Mark Maynard, Episode 47
From an old converted barbershop inside the area’s largest all-nude strip club comes the forty-seventh episode of the Saturday Six Pack With Mark Maynard. Moving from print media, Mark Maynard brings his interview style to the world of AM radio.
This week Mark talks with Virginia Lozano about her technology start-up, Leesta, which aims to teach young children American History through the stories of women. She updates Mark on the progress the company is making with their first module on Grace Lee Boggs.
Up next, Gregory McIntosh stops by the station to drop off a CD from his new project, Loose Teeth. Mark and Greg chat a little bit before playing an AM1700 radio world premiere of “The Jagged Edges Of Big Ideas”, a song that he played live in the studio as part of Episode #037 of The Saturday Six Pack.
Long-time friend of the station Melissa Coppola of JUNGLEFOWL fame joins mark to talk about her new, non-profit venture, Girls Rock Detroit wherein young girls are taught to harness their creative spirits in order to rock out as well as kick out the jams.
The show ends with Timothy Monger and his guitar joining Mark to talk music and play some tunes. Timothy’s appearance marks the first time that two members of Great Lakes Myth Society have ever appeared on the station in the same day.
