The Saturday Six Pack With Mark Maynard, Episode 25
From an old converted barbershop inside the area’s largest all-nude strip club comes the twenty-fifth episode of the Saturday Six Pack With Mark Maynard.
Moving from print media, Mark Maynard brings his interview style to the world of AM radio. In the first hour, Mark talks with author / University of Michigan professor, Phoebe Gloeckner about her graphic novel “Diary Of A Teenage Girl”, its adaptation for the big screen, her disdain for dirty hippies, and her love of Bull’s Eyes. Phoebe also gives much consideration to replacing Mark as the new host of The Saturday Six Pack wherein she would just interview people’s mothers. Next, Amanda Uhle of 826 Michigan reveals the plan to bring Mittenfest back to Ypsilanti. Finally, Peter Larson, famed professor of epidemiology and blues musician, warns the audience to always wash their hands before making dinner lest they contract hantavirus. He then goes on to dare the leader of a major hardcore band to a fist fight live on the air. The show ends innocently enough as local porch-show promoter J.T. Garfield challenges anyone from the audience to be the first person to vomit in his yard.
