The Sit Down, Episode 2

Hosted by Cydney Gardner-Brown 19 October, 2018

From an old converted barbershop inside the area’s largest all-nude strip club comes the second episode of The Sit Down, with resident host, Cydney Gardner-Brown (and assistive co-hosts Mitchel Dipzinski and Dominique Witten).

The Sit Down is a series of spoken and recorded conversations featuring the voices of college students. Conversations are focused on capturing a wide array of perspectives regarding race, pop-culture, politics, gender/sexuality, and more. These discussions attempt to seize the essence of those “deep” 3 AM conversations had in the hallways and common areas where college students dwell and dream. The Sit Down will be a space for learning on all sides, a beyond-the-classroom experience, if you will, that nurtures diversity of thought, engagement, and social awareness.

We, the next generation of firebrands, aim to demonstrate that through dialogue and understanding, all voices may be heard and appreciated.

In this week’s episode, host Cydney Gardner-Brown sits down with student guests, Zoe Clark and Dominique Witten, as they discuss women and feminism as seen through the lens of college women of color.

Released 19 October, 2018

Recorded live at AM1700 Radio in historic, downtown Ypsilanti, MI.
